Tracy Anderson

Portrait artist Tracy Anderson creates custom oil portrait painting for official, corporate, and private commissions.

Born in Aberdeen, SD, Oil Painter Tracy Anderson has always had a passion for the creative side. Anderson's love for art began at an early age, her uncle is an artist and retired art professor. She remembered, as an enthused young girl watching him draw and asking, "Can you draw me a horse?" That exposure to art may have been her inspiration. Later, with her parents' permission, Anderson
drew a life-size horse on her bedroom wall. Her parents were supportive of her interest in art and allowed her to create another painting on the wall.

After High School, Tracy went on to earn her degree in Interior Design. She was successful in the design field and worked for a tile and marble showroom in Minneapolis and later in a design center. Later, while homeschooling her two children, Tracy's attraction to art never diminished. She created three-dimensional framed art, did some freelance interior design work and was a partner in a retail art supplies store.

Her unyielding urge to pursue art prompted her to start taking some college classes. She jumped right into the third-year portrait painting classes. Anderson found inspiration in oil painting - a medium she truly loved.

Today, Tracy is a published and award winning artist. One of her most notable accomplishments was receiving best of show, first place, member's choice and people's choice at the Artists of Minnesota show in 2011. Anderson is the first person to take all four awards on a single painting - Into the Shadows.
